As we bid farewell to 2024, we look back on a year of remarkable achievements, growth, and unwavering dedication to making a positive impact on the Amazon.
This year has been nothing short of transformative for us, and we couldn't be prouder of the strides we've made together in improving the livelihoods of local communities within the forest.
A heartfelt thank you to our investors, partners, team, and everyone who believes in our ideas. We are certain of a future where finance always comes accompanied by social and environmental responsibility.
Let’s cheer on some of our highlights of 2024:
Investments: Our incredibly talented team has secured nearly USD 2,5 million in new investments in our Amazonia Impact Fund I.
Sustainable Initiatives: We have made over USD 2M in new loans to sustainable enterprises in the Amazon, bringing our total investments in Latin America to almost USD 8 million since 2020. It impacted over 4,000 producers and their local communities on more than 160,000 hectares of farm and community-forest land, significantly reducing deforestation and championing environmental responsibility.
Bioeconomy: We provided over 33 loans to 15 sustainable small and medium enterprises. These enterprises use forest-based bioeconomy value chains, including non-timber forest products (brazil nuts, acai, guayusa, and other Amazonian fruits) and sustainable commodities (coffee, cacao, and ginger) increasing the value of standing forests, thus reducing the risk of deforestation.
Innovation: Our commitment to innovation in our loans led to the development of bespoke impact targets and technical assistance to our partners, improving their positive impact, revenues and access to new markets, especially in Europe and North America.
Participation and Networking: We are honoured to have participated in more than 20 Impact Finance events, panels and conferences throughout 2024, where we encountered so many inspiring minds from the sector.
