In their trip around Peru, Aldo Soto, Nelson Torres Balarezo and the AIV team paid a visit to one of our partners yesterday: Sanchirio Palomar Cooperative, a young and capable enterprise of organic and Fairtrade coffee producers from Pichanaki, a city in the region of Junín, in central Peru.

In 2024, AIV provided Sanchirio.pe with an impact-linked loan of USD 250 thousand for their working capital needs. Our loan is supporting the cooperative to exporting coffee to the United States and Europe, providing 100% traceability and transparency.

Founded in 2020 by 25 producers, Sanchirio had a collective aim of improving the quality of coffee and their agricultural processes with organic certification, fairtrade, and other sustainable seals.

Sourcing their coffee from 420 local producers nowadays, with 130 hectares reforested, they benefit from the contribution of over 100 women members to the exportable supply of green coffee.

Sanchirio Palomar cooperative demonstrated:

  • Showing good transparency along the supply chain;

  • Working alongside the farmers in reforestation;

  • Managing sustainably organic and inorganic waste;

  • Supporting women with training and opportunities.
